ENODA Participates in 2025 European Blockchain Sandbox
ENODA participated in the third European Blockchain Sandbox (EBS) cohort, a European Commission initiative designed to facilitate structured regulatory dialogue between Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) innovators and regulators across the EU and EEA.
The third cohort ran from beginning of April 2025 to early 2026 and featured 20 innovative projects, with Enoda ENSEMBLE™ selected as one of only two energy-sector use cases.
Participation in the EBS enabled ENODA to directly collaborate with a network of engaged national and EU regulators, with an average of 11 regulators involved per cross-border use case.
The sandbox delivered invaluable multi-jurisdictional insights, which will contribute to the forthcoming European Blockchain Sandbox Best Practice Report.
Building on this report, ENODA will publish a series of articles examining the regulatory and technical questions most frequently raised during the Sandbox, and how these will shape the deployment of DLT in energy infrastructure.
This series will explore how horizontal digital regulation, such as the Data Act, intersects with sector-specific energy rules, why compliance-by-design matters for critical infrastructure, how auditability can reduce friction in balancing markets and aggregation workflows, and why system classification ultimately determines which regulatory frameworks apply.
