ENODA Wins a Red Dot in the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2026

‍ENODA is delighted to announce that the Enoda PRIME® Exchanger has received a Red Dot in the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2026 in the Electrification & Decarbonisation category.

‍ ‍

The Red Dot Award is one of the world’s leading design competitions, recognising innovation and excellence across Product Design, Brands & Communication Design, and Design Concepts.

‍ ‍

The award recognises the Enoda PRIME® Exchanger, the first-of-a-kind, intelligent software-driven hardware layer of ENODA’s innovative platform. The design of the Enoda PRIME® Exchanger is informed by ENODA’s pursuit of “simplicity on the other side of complexity” distilling the highly complex integration of air-cooled electromagnetics, power electronics, edge compute and monitoring into a single package.

‍ ‍

The “V1” concept of the Enoda PRIME® Exchanger is a further optimisation of technology already deployed in EU networks for the past 8 months, supporting the transition to a more flexible electricity grid while integrating with legacy infrastructure.

‍ ‍

The industrial design prioritises practical deployment and ensures ease of transportation, installation and maintenance, while reinforcing user safety and environmental protection.

‍ ‍

By deriving distinct forms from technical features and functional needs, the Enoda PRIME® Exchanger carries the identity of ENODA. Elements such as the corrugated vent panels, or the usability-focused colour palette all contribute to the distinct visual signature of the PRIME Exchanger, with each element addressing a functional need. This signature contrasts with traditional distribution substation devices to propose a new industrial design archetype, driven by the needs of the electrical grid.

Chief Marketing Officer, Jacqui Porch commented:

‍ ‍

"Receiving a Red Dot Award is significant industry recognition of the deep consideration, expertise, and dedication that drives the development of our integrated product and platform. It is our absolute focus to deliver on our promise of backwards compatible, future facing solutions, to support network operators to make the transition to increase the capability and capacity of global distribution grids. Special mention goes to Christopher Wallace, Industrial Design Lead, and Sam Griffin, Senior Design Engineer, whose work is instrumental in bringing this next refinement of the Enoda PRIME® Exchanger from concept to reality.”

‍ ‍

As electricity networks continue to evolve, ENODA remains focused on delivering the platform needed to support a more flexible, reliable and sustainable energy future.
