Edinburgh, August 2026 – ENODA Ltd, a UK company delivering leading edge innovation in energy technology, is pleased to announce it is establishing an innovation centre in Edinburgh. Located in Shawfair, the site will support the establishment of the company's first production and industrial testing capabilities, and the expansion of its research and development activities.
The facility is a key milestone in ENODA's growth strategy, enabling the company to proceed on its certification path. ENODA will commence production of its commercial-scale Enoda PRIME® Exchanger to customers in Europe, while continuing its ground-breaking innovation for energy systems, supported by a state-of-the-art testing and R&D facility.
ENODA is developing an intelligent, integrated platform for energy networks, turning passive infrastructure into active orchestration. ENODA’s technology is designed to replace current nodal points in the distribution network – including substations – with smart nodes that co-ordinate autonomously through its Enoda ENSEMBLE™ platform, balancing the energy system in real time. Local electricity networks can be de-constrained by dynamically balancing power flows, regulating voltage, correcting power quality issues and optimising capacity in real time. This can enable more low-carbon technologies and renewable generation to connect without costly grid reinforcement.
The new site is local to ENODA's UK headquarters. It will bring significant benefits to the Edinburgh economy, including the creation of approximately 50 skilled jobs and opportunities for local talent development. The company anticipates producing and delivering up to 500/annum units of its proprietary grid technology, the Enoda PRIME® Exchanger, once the facility is operating at full capacity.

ENODA’s Head of Manufacturing, Dr Nuno Silva commented, “The ENODA Innovation Centre in Scotland is an important step in building the manufacturing capability needed to bring our technology to market at scale. The facility will allow us to develop and refine our product, manufacturing processes and supply chain while building the skills and expertise required for future production.
As demand grows, the knowledge and experience gained in Scotland will help us expand into larger manufacturing facilities capable of producing commercial fleets of PRIME Exchangers. The Innovation Centre will also serve as a testbed for new production methods, helping us improve efficiency and quality as we scale.
